The first event in this year's series of LANXESS Rubber Days will be a technical conference with an exhibition and subsequent reception in Düsseldorf. Under the motto "Innovations for modern mobility", the cross-sector event will be a follow-up to the scientific colloquium staged by LANXESS in 2009. This time the focus will be on the topic "Tires and innovations". Guests will include customers from the rubber processing and automotive industries, representatives of local, national and EU politics, as well as representatives of the media and LANXESS.
"...we have to break new ground - and this will not be possible without the support of innovative companies such as LANXESS." (Harry K. Voigtsberger, Minister of Economy, Energy, Construction, Housing and Transport of North Rhine-Westphalia at a LANXESS event in Brussels). LANXESS invited Voigstberger to the panel discussion on "solutions for modern mobility."
“Future generations will live in a world where the rubber that goes into tires, pharmaceutical closures and even chewing gum can be made from sustainable resources", said Dr. Axel C. Heitmann in an op-ed for the Post Gazette. Dr. Ron Commander, Head of LANXESS business unit Butyl Rubber and Dr. Patrick Gruber CEO of Gevo will talk about "Rolling hand-in-hand to a greener future".
“The far-sighted approach by the EU to introduce tire labeling, with the support of the German government, is a positive example of how environmental policies can benefit consumers and spur economic success,” said Heitmann. There will also be a panel about "Tire labeling, energy efficiency and performance" with an exclusive set of experts.
