The Controlling Trainee Program

A well of experience

The principle tasks of the Corporate Controlling Group Function (GF) are the planning, reporting, analysis, controlling and monitoring of the main financial and business target variables at LANXESS, based on the financial statement, balance sheet and the cash flow statement. These are used to prepare for, support and substantiate management decisions that affect both the operational business as well as the midterm corporate planning.

As part of the Controlling Group Function, the Restructuring and M&A Controlling Department supports the Mergers & Acquisitions Group Function with portfolio adjustments, by analysing and documenting savings and one-off costs for restructuring projects.

As part of the LANXESS Investment Committee, the Capital Investments & Working Capital (CI&WC) Department is responsible for analysing and preparing decisions for major investments.

We can also offer our Controlling Trainees additional project assignments in the Management Reporting & Business Analysis Department or in Controlling for one of our 13 Business Units.

On top of this you will also complete at least one foreign placement in one of our international corporate affiliates. Following the successful completion of your Trainee Program there willl be numerous opportunities for you to assume tasks with responsibility at LANXESS.

Which prerequisites must you meet to apply for the Controlling Trainee Program?

  • A very good degree in economic sciences with a specialisation in controlling, financial accounting or accounting.
  • You already have practical experience with a subject-related vocational training period or relevant internships completed during your degree or have up to three years' work experience in an industrial corporation.
  • You already have initial international experience with a foreign semester or internships.
  • Your personal qualities include a visionary and strategic approach as well as distinct team and communications skills.
  • You see yourself as creative and analytical; you demonstrate initiative and have a high sense of responsibility.
  • You are fluent in written and spoken German and English. Knowledge of another foreign language is an asset.
